About SpinWheelPicker
SpinWheelPicker is a free spin-the-wheel tool. You give it a list, it gives you one entry back at random. That is the whole product.
Why there are no accounts
Most tools in this category ask you to sign up before you can save a wheel. We decided not to build that at all. No sign-up means no password to forget, no email in a database, and nothing of yours on a server we could lose. Your wheels live in your browser, and a shared wheel travels inside the link itself rather than through us.
It also means the tool works with no connection once you have loaded it, and it loads in a fraction of a second, because there is no session to check before anything can render.
How the randomness works
Every spin draws from crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's cryptographic random number generator — the same source used for security keys — rather than the ordinary pseudo-random function most sites use.
Mapping a random number onto a list of options is where fairness is usually lost: taking a remainder biases the result towards the earlier entries whenever the list size does not divide evenly into the generator's range. We use rejection sampling instead, which discards the values that would skew the result. The difference is small on a two-entry wheel and material on a large one.
The winner is chosen before the wheel starts moving, and the animation is then aimed at it. That ordering matters: a wheel that spins first and reads its final position afterwards will eventually disagree with itself by a fraction of a degree and announce the wrong entry. Ours cannot, because the result was never read off the animation.
Accessibility
The wheel is fully operable by keyboard, results are announced to screen readers, and if your system asks for reduced motion the spin is skipped and the result appears immediately. Every page works with JavaScript switched off, showing the full wheel and its entries as an image.
Who runs it
SpinWheelPicker is a small independent project, not a company. There is one address, it is read by a person, and we answer: hello@spinwheelpicker.app
